Stanley L Jones

EL CAJON — Stanley Lyle Jones passed away on July 13th, 2022 in El Cajon California. Stan is survived by his loving wife Suzanne, daughter Ashley & James Morris (husband), his grandchildren Sadie and Colton Morris, and stepson Lucas Hondros.

Stan was born on Aug. 24th 1951 in Boise, Idaho to Ernie & Analyle Jones who preceded him in death. Stan will be missed by his brothers Ernie & Marylynn (wife) Jones, Michael & Beverly (wife) Jones, and Russell Jones. Stan had six nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Stan enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1969 and was assigned to the Marine Division Recon. He served his country proudly for two years and did one tour in

Vietnam. After his time in the Marine Corps, Stan attended Snow College and Southern Utah University where he played football and received his undergraduate degrees. Stan would continue his education at Idaho State University where he received his master’s degree.

Stan moved to San Diego in 1979 where he coached football at a local high school and opened a restaurant named Senior Frogs. In 1992 Stan began his career with Sysco Food Services, where he was a model employee for 19 years. He retired in 2013.

Stan loved all sports but especially football!! He enjoyed attending major sporting events in San Diego and hosting parties with Suzanne at their home on various holidays for family and friends.

Stan’s services will be on August 23rd at Miramar National Cemetery at 9:30am. A celebration of life will follow at Riverwalk Golf Club from 11:00am-3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
