Aug. 19 PERRIS Movies in the park

The city of Perris will host a Movies in the Park event at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19. Grab a blanket and the kids and settle in to watch “Clifford” under the stars at Morgan Park, 600 E. Morgan St. The event is free, and the movie begins at dusk. The series will continue Sept. 9 with “Spiderman” at Mercado Park, 925 S. Aug. 21 TEMECULA Sunday Funday at Vail HQ

Aug. 22 MURRIETA Dog Tales

The Murrieta Public Library holds its Dog Tales program at 4:30 p.m. Mondays, except holidays. The program, in partnershi­p with Love on a Leash, provides trained reading-education assistance dogs for children ages 3 to 12 to read to. Arrive early to sign up for a 10-minute slot. The library is at 8 Town Square.

The Vail Headquarte­rs Certified Farmers Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays at 32115 Temecula Parkway. Vendors offer fresh produce, cut flowers, local honey, specialty foods and more, and there are activities for children. Informatio­n: https://www.vailhq.com/farmers-market.

Aug. 23 MURRIETA Coffee talks

The Coffee with the City of Murrieta series continues at 8:30 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month. The free events hosted by the city and the Murrieta/wildomar Chamber of Commerce provide an opportunit­y for residents to connect with city officials. Aug. 24 TEMECULA Morning Mixer

The Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold its August Morning Mixer at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Guiltless Food Co., 27725 Jefferson Ave., Suite 104. The event is free for chamber members, $30 for guests. Registrati­on is required at https://members.temecula.org/events.

Aug. 26-28 TEMECULA Carnival Nights weekend

Vail Headquarte­rs and In The Loop will hold a Carnival Nights weekend Friday to Sunday, Aug. 2628, at Vail Headquarte­rs, 32115 Temecula Parkway. Admission is free with ticketed attraction­s, which include carnival games, a toddler bounce house, inflatable slide, pony rides and a petting zoo, face painting, train rides and more. The Carnival Nights will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 26 and 27, and 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28.

Aug. 28 TEMECULA Cello performanc­e

The Ronald H. Roberts Temecula Public Library, in conjunctio­n with the Cadenza String Orchestra, will host a free performanc­e by internatio­nally acclaimed cellist Ruslan Biryukov at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at the library, 30600 Pauba Road. Biryukov, a Temecula resident, is founder of the Glendale Philharmon­ic Orchestra and Los Angeles Cello Quartet. The concert is free, but space is limited.

Sept. 2 MURRIETA Veterans Expo

State Sen. Melissa Melendez and Assemblyme­mber Kelly Seyarto will host the Veterans Expo 2022 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2., at Monteleone Meadows, 35245 Briggs Road, Murrieta. Sept. 2 TEMECULA Art Off the Walls

The city of Temecula holds its free Art Off the Walls program on the first Friday of the month at The Lot on Main, 42051 Main St. There will be an artist reception for featured artists in The Merc with live music and refreshmen­ts. Sept. 8 MURRIETA/WILDOMAR Networking breakfast

The Murrieta/wildomar Chamber of Commerce holds its monthly networking breakfast on Sept. 8. The meeting includes networking from 7:30 to 8 a.m. followed by the regular program at 8 a.m. Cost is $15 for pre-registered members, $25 for pre-registered non-members, $30 at the door for anyone not registered in advance; Soap Box Minute costs $25. Ongoing VALLEYWIDE Blood donations

Donations of blood and plasma are needed for patients throughout the region. Lifestream continues to host mobile blood drives at various locations as well as collection­s at its regular locations.
