-

OCEANSIDE, CA — Maurice (Moe) Ledoux, 79, of Oceanside, California passed peacefully on Sept 13, 2022 of Alzheimer’s disease. He spent his final months on hospice at home being cared for by his wife, Belinda, and sister-in-law, Patricia De La Cruz.

Moe was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on October 24, 1942 to parents, Alfred and Marie (Duhaime) Ledoux. He joined the army during the Vietnam era and served from 1962-1965. Upon discharge, he settled in Kirkland, Washington and was employed by Safeway as a proud teamster in the milk plant until he retired after 30 years of service.

He was known for his competitiveness in billiards, darts and powerlifting in his younger years. As a powerlifter he mentored a young teenager, Robert Espinoza. They formed a strong bond and Rob became the son Moe never had. He enjoyed working out at the gym on a regular basis, gardening, and attending his grandchildrens’ activities. He was a

die-hard Seattle Seahawks fan and could name all of the players and their positions. He loved cats and fostered kittens through the Oceanside Humane Society. As a member of New Song Community Church, he volunteered to help with the annual Trunk or Treat, as he loved seeing the kids in costume.

He and his wife traveled to Alaska, Australia, Kauai, Western Caribbean, Mexico, Israel, and several of the United States. Their last trip was to Oahu in 2019 before Covid shut down the country.

He is survived by Belinda, his wife of 18 years. He has a daughter, Stacy Ellfeldt, of Santee; grandson, Cory Ledoux of Texas; granddaughters, Caylen Newsome of Chula Vista and Calli Ledoux of Lynden, Washington; and great-grandson, Cole Newsome. Grandpa Moe adored and was loved by his step grandchildren Hailey, Adrian, Sofia and Harlow.

Those who knew him appreciated his playful sense of humor and kind heart.
