SAN DIEGO, CA — Nomi Feldman, successful entreprene­ur and community leader, died Sunday in La Jolla at age 95.

Born in 1926 in Palestine to parents who helped found the state of Israel, she smuggled guns for the Haganah while serving in the British army.

Married in 1949 to renowned immunologi­st Joseph Feldman, she held key leadership roles in the Jewish National Fund, Jewish Federation, Jewish Community Center and Jewish Family Service.

Elegant, intellectu­ally sharp and a gifted conversati­onalist, she was ardent about art, theater and the symphony.

She was a superb organizer who founded a successful meeting management firm. Her daughters, Orna Feldman, Danah (Ron) Feldman, and Ruth (Norman) Berger; her grandchild­ren, Oriel (Stephen) Feldmanhal­l, Sari and Joel Berger, and her great-grandchild­ren, Isabel, Asher and Madeleine Milbank, remain devoted.
