MAKING YOUR MARK

Tattoos have a colorful, complex history dating back thousands of years. A national Rasmussen Reports survey of 1,000 U.S. adults this year found that 1 in 3 people had tattoos, and 1 in 5 had two or more. Some are symbolic or silly. Some are sentimental. Some are spiritual. Below, three San Diegans share the personal stories behind why they got certain tattoos at certain points of their lives.
