Dallas superstar Luka Doncic capped off a historic five-game run with 51 points and the Mavericks needed all of it to beat the Spurs.

Mavericks 126, Spurs 125

Doncic had two rebounds and two free throws in the final 4.5 seconds, helping Dallas escape with a 126-125 victory in San Antonio on Saturday night for their sixth straight victory.

It was the third 50-point outing in the past five games for Doncic, including 60 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists Tuesday night in an overtime victory over New York. He’s the first player in NBA history with 250 points, 50 rebounds, and 50 assists over a five-game span.

“It’s incredible,” Mavericks center Christian Wood said. “In my seven years in the league, I’ve never seen anybody do what he’s able to do. He’s on an incredible run. He’s playing like an MVP. Clearly one of the best players in the league.”

Nets 123, Hornets 106:

Kyrie Irving scored 18 of his 28 points in the first half, Kevin Durant added 23 points and visiting Brooklyn ran its winning streak to 11.

Brooklyn never trailed and led by 10 points in the first quarter, 15 in the second, 18 in the third and 22 in the fourth to improve to 24-12.

Lamelo Ball had 23 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists for Charlotte.

Pacers 131, Clippers 130:

Myles Turner scored 34 points, Tyrese Haliburton had 24 points and 10 assists, including 14 points in the final four minutes, and host Indiana held on to beat Paul George and Los Angeles.

George scored 45 points, the most by a Clippers player this season, in his return to Indianapol­is and Kawhi Leonard had 24 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Leonard missed a 3-pointer from the right wing that would have tied the game at 130. Haliburton then made a free throw with 5.3 seconds left to push Indiana’s lead to 131-127 before George hit a 3 as time expired.

Cavaliers 103, Bulls 102:

Caris Levert scored 23 points, Kevin Love added 20 points and nine rebounds and visiting Cleveland ended a three-game skid with a victory over Chicago.

Demar Derozan had 21 points and Ayo Dosunmu added 19 for Chicago, which had won two straight.

Knicks 108, Rockets 88:

Julius Randle scored 35 points and Immanuel Quickley added 27 as visiting New York beat Houston to snap a five-game skid.

The Rockets led for most of the first half, but the Knicks went on top just before the break and lead by double-digits for most of the second half.

Pistons 116, Timberwolv­es 104: Bojan Bogdanovic scored 28 points, including 17 in the third quarter as Detroit erased a doubledigi­t deficit, and the Pistons got 65 points from their bench in a victory over host Minnesota.

Marvin Bagley Jr. had 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for Detroit, which had lost seven of eight and trailed by 18 points in the first quarter.

76ers 115, Thunder 96: Joel Embid had 16 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for his fifth career triple-double and visiting Philadelph­ia never trailed.

Tobias Harris hit his first seven shots and scored 23 points for Philadelph­ia. Harris scored 16 points in 16 minutes in the first half to help the 76ers take a 69-43 lead.

Grizzlies 116, Pelicans 101: Ja Morant had 32 points and eight assists, Jaren Jackson Jr. added 17 points and six blocks, and host Memphis broke open the game in the fourth quarter.

Desmond Bane finished with 18 points and Steven Adams had 10 points and a season-high 21 rebounds as the Grizzlies won their second straight.

Heat 126, Jazz 123: Tyler Herro hit a running 3-pointer as time expired to win it for visiting Miami after Utah’s Lauri Markkanen tied it with three free throws.

Bam Adebayo scored 32 points for the Heat, Herro finished with 29 and Victor Olidipo had 23 off the bench.

Markkanen led the Jazz with 29.

Friday’s late results

Warriors 118, Trail Blazers 112: Jordan Poole scored 41 points, Klay Thompson hit from deep with 1:36 left and scored 31, leading Golden State past visiting Portland to improve the league’s best home record to 16-2.

Damian Lillard finished with 34 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Portland.

Kings 126, Jazz 125: Kevin Huerter hit a 3-pointer with 9.0 seconds remaining to give host Sacramento its winning edge over Utah.

Huerter finished with a team-high 30 points. Utah’s Lauri Markkanen scored a game-high 36.
