Page new director of communications at Prebys Foundation
Crystal Page has joined The Conrad Prebys Foundation as its new director of communications.
Page brings more than 13 years of strategic communications experience in both the government and private sectors to her new role.
She previously served as the chief of staff for the office of Supervisor Terra Lawson-remer in San Diego County’s District 3, where she led policy, public affairs and community relations campaigns and directed strategic communications campaigns for the second largest county in California. Prior to her role at the supervisor’s office, she served as the deputy secretary of communications and external affairs for the California Labor & Workforce Development Agency, where she managed the public affairs and external relations for the agency’s seven departments, boards and panels that serve California workers and businesses.
Previously, Page developed and executed policy campaign strategies in support of local member unions as the communications director and housing policy workgroup manager for Service Employees International Union California State Council (SEIU).
At The Conrad Prebys Foundation, Page will work with the rest of the foundation’s team to continue to build a strong foundation to help strengthen San Diego’s future, according to a recent news release.
“Crystal is an exceptionally talented and strategic communicator and the ideal person to lead this aspect of our work as she has a deep understanding of the community’s challenges and strengths and is passionate about communications as a tool to promote positive social change,” said Grant Oliphant, CEO of The Conrad Prebys Foundation.
The foundation has assets exceeding $1 billion and annual grantmaking of more than $50 million. Its approach is that philanthropy — to be most effective and successful — must work in partnership with the public, business and nonprofit sectors to address community needs in San Diego.
“I am honored to join The Conrad Prebys Foundation team to create an inclusive, equitable and dynamic future for all San Diegans,” Page said. “I believe targeted communication to our region about philanthropic opportunities can redefine how people and businesses contribute to charitable causes that can improve the San Diego region.”
