-

January 4, 1949 - December 2, 2022

EAGLE, ID — A beautiful life ended unexpectedly on December 2nd when Linda passed away peacefully at home. Linda (Beckstrom) Crosby was born on January 4th, 1949, in Covina, California. She was the second of 3 daughters born to Mary and Lawrence A. Beckstrom Jr.

Her roots ran deep in the San Gabriel Valley. Generations of her mother’s family were pioneer citrus growers in Duarte, beginning as early as 1880. Her father’s family owned Arcadia Lumber Company from the 1930’s. She grew up with her sisters, Carol and Jeri, in Arcadia and Glendora, and graduated from Glendora High School in 1966.

She earned her degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. After college, Linda went to work at Arcadia Lumber Company, where she eventually took over operations as president and expanded the business to several other locations.

Linda married Rolland Crosby and got the added blessing of 2 wonderful young children, who were of similar age to her own niece and nephew. The 4 were very close growing up. Linda was there cheering them on at every game and event she possibly could. She continued rooting for all their children as well.

Linda enjoyed golf, family history, organization, painting, gardening, and entertaining; she excelled at them all. Family was central to her. As the Crosby children grew up, got married and had children of their own, they settled in the Boise area of Idaho. For many years, Rolly and Linda divided their time between Idaho and the Cardiff/encinitas area until eventually moving to Idaho full time, to be of support to their children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband Rolland Crosby, their children Chris Crosby (Heather) and Rebecca (Crosby) Humphreys (Brad), grandchildren Lillian, Andrew and Eleanor Crosby, and Piper and Berklee Humphreys. She is also survived by her sisters Jeri Hearn (Mike) and Carol Stone (Ralph), niece Christa Stone, nephew Brian Stone (Catrina) and grandnieces Charlotte and Chelsea Stone; her aunt Joellen Maddock and her five children Gail Walker (Bill), Dave Maddock, Steve Maddock (Diana), Garth Maddock (Debbie), Marla Banks and all their families; sister-in-law Carol Herbst (Chet) and their 3 children and their families; and many other friends and relatives.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Cardiff by the Sea in March.
