New advancement chief joins Girl Scouts San Diego
Kristin Wiggins has been named chief advancement officer for Girl Scouts San Diego, which works to build courage, confidence and character in its 23,000 members in San Diego and Imperial counties.
Wiggins will lead the nonprofit organization’s communications, marketing and philanthropy efforts. She has more than 20 years of experience focused on fundraising, board development and governance, program development, marketing, volunteer management, and special events.
Most recently, Wiggins served as chief advancement officer at Father Joe’s Villages, where she provided strategic vision for its efforts in corporate partnerships, individual giving, foundation and government relations, donor communications, public relations, and more. During her tenure, private philanthropy grew from $11.5 million to more than $30 million annually.
“The mission of Girl Scouts San Diego aligns perfectly with my personal values and philanthropic priorities,” Wiggins said. “The opportunities for girls and women abound through Girl Scouts San Diego, where girls can explore new things, find their passions and make a difference in our community.”
“I look forward to helping grow the organization’s footprint in San Diego and Imperial counties by working with our donors to fulfill our mission and expand programs that meet the unique needs of younger generations,” she added.
Carol Dedrich, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts San Diego, said Wiggins is a great addition to the organization.
“Rounding out our senior management team, Kristin will be instrumental in strengthening our relationships with community partners, key donors, and regional leaders who align with our lifechanging mission,” Dedrich said.
