Gloria Ann Golden

February 26, 1934 - January 29, 2023

CHULA VISTA, CA — Gloria Ann Golden, 88, of Chula Vista, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023 after a period of declining health.

Born February 26, 1934 in San Mateo CA, Gloria was the daughter and only child of William and Adeline Macgregor of Santa Rosa California. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Sonny Iverson, second husband Robert Gula, third husband Neil Golden, eldest daughter Barbara Cates and granddaughter Lisa Cates.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her son Jeffrey Gula of Alpine CA, daughter Christine Gula of San Diego and son Corey Gula of Charleston South Carolina, as well as 7 grandchildren, 5 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Gloria grew up in the northern California city of Burlingame and later, Santa Rosa, with her two best friends and cousins Barbara Barber and Claudia Mcdermott. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Chula Vista and also worked as the Rectory bookkeeper under Monsignor Ryan for many years.

After the loss of her second husband Robert Gula, she single-handedly and successfully raised her four children. She traveled frequently to various places around the country as well as many times to Europe with her dear friends Robert and Katie Weick.

A dedicated Christian, she was also a lover of animals and was frequently caring for them and the strays around her neighborhood.

Gloria will be remembered for her strong will, wonderful sense of humor and silly sayings as well as being a wealth of knowledge about classic movies. She will be sorely missed.
