Judy Rosalie Cunniff

SAN DIEGO —
Judy was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 26, 1942. She married Dan Cunniff on December 2, 1988 in Scottsdale Arizona and celebrated their 34th year last December.
Judy graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.A. in Foods and Business, and a Masters in Business from National University. In college, she was known as “Our Miss Brooks” due to her lady-like demeanor (1950 Sitcom). While in college, Judy sewed all her own clothes.
As a dietitian, her first job entailed buying food for major chain stores in Illinois and Colorado. She and Dan ran a Bed and Breakfast on Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. She was a Legal Assistant to the District Attorney for the State of Washington and was an Administrative Assistant to a Reginal Dean of National University in Fresno, California. She dabbled in real estate and received a minor in Criminal Justice. Additionally, she was a coauthor of the university textbook, “Transforming into an Educational Leader.”
Judy and Dan loved traveling the USA in their RV. They also enjoyed cruising to the many ports of call on Holland American Lines. Judy loved reading, politics, and coloring greeting cards and calendars. She served on the Camino Hills Board as President in 2017 and 2018.
She had a double lung transplant on April 4, 2019 and was in good health until her January 17, 2023 peaceful death with her family by her side. Judy will be missed by her husband Dan, brother Philip, son Eric, daughter Annette, step-sons, nine grandchildren, and oh yes, her puppy Muffy as well.
