Shop puts modern spin on vintage merchandise
Gogo Modern is making fans in North Park with its eclectic variety of vintage goods and its modern spin on mid-century collectibles.
“(People are) saying they love the store, the curation and selection we have,” Gogo Modern’s co-founder, Dave Peterson said. “We want you to buy (something) and have you feel like you’re basically going back to 1955, buying something that’s brand new.”
The kaleidoscopic collection of rare finds at Gogo Modern includes midcentury modern, Danish, Swedish and American furniture, lamps, art, sculptures and knick knacks from the 1950s to the 1970s.
Peterson and his business partner, Adam Stankiewicz, opened the shop in January.
Long-time collectors, the pair source and restore many of their items in their inventory, making sure each bar stool, cabinet or furniture piece is in perfect condition with zero chips or scratches.
Calling himself and Stankiewicz “condition fanatics,” Peterson said they take pride in their restoration work and also offer upholstery services and free deliveries.

lamps. Peterson said his “remarkable collection” features lamps with eraspecific shades, something that’s hard to find in town.
He said it’s fun to share pieces that are “beautifully-made and wellthought out items that are timeless” versus fast furniture.
“What we really strive for is customer service .. (and) having a very uniquely curated variety of goods (that are) expertly-curated, but directed towards the community where it’s affordable for them,” he said.
