Alpine club holds ‘Attic Treasures Sale’

The Alpine Woman’s Club holds its ninth annual “Attic Treasures Sale” from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 19. Items include clothing, accessorie­s, gift items and home decor. Speaker discusses charitable gift annuities

The Sharp Grossmont Hospital Senior Resource Center offers a free “Charitable Gift Annuity” talk from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the La Mesa Adult Enrichment Center, Main Hall North, 8450 La Mesa Blvd. A charitable gift annuity can be preferable to leaving the same amount as a bequest gift. The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce invites the community to its sixth annual “Spring Fling” Business Expo from 5 to 7:30 p.m. March 22 at the Courtyard by Marriott San Diego, 141 N. Magnolia, in El Cajon. The expo gives chamber members an opportunit­y to showcase their goods and services, and attendees (21 and older) can meet some of the people behind local businesses. Tickets are $15 at lamesacham­ber.com and include samples from restaurant­s and food vendors. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Nature Day at Mount Helix Park

Join nature lovers at Mount Helix Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for Nature Day, a free community event. Trail tours are offered with nativeplan­t experts, plus nature crafts and activities. Participat­ing groups include California Native Plant Society, I Love a Clean San Diego, Mt. Helix Park Foundation, San Diego River Park Foundation and Water Conservati­on Garden.
