Eastlake gym is building up members, community
Growing from a garage studio to a fully-equipped gym, Rev Body in Eastlake continues to up its game while pushing its community to reach goals together, mentally and physically.
“We want to build a sense of community with our members,” said the gym’s founder Oscar Eberle. “They really appreciate how they feel taken care of (by) all of our trainers.”
Eberle, who has a kinesiology degree from California Polytechnic State University, started training friends at his Otay Ranch home during the pandemic. He had lost his job at a large gym due to Covid-related shutdowns and was left only with his drive and inspiration to pursue all of “the good (he) could do through training.”
As word spread about Eberle’s fledgling business, he started reaching a clientele of nearly 70 clients per week, with a growing waiting list.
High demand led to him to 851 Showroom Place, where Eberle opened his first Rev Body in 2021, teaming up with his childhood friend and now gym co-owner, Xavier Barrett. A San Diego State University-trained kinesiologist, Barrett joined forces with Eberle to offer personal and group training at their Eastlake fitness club.
Focused on HIIT or high intensity interval training, the workouts at Rev

Group and body sculpt classes using a mix of pilates, HIIT and yoga take place daily, with new classes for TRX (total body resistance exercise), mat pilates, dance cardio and yoga expected to debut at the gym’s expanded space next door, opening in April.
Rev Body hosts monthly community events, often teaming up with and supporting local organizations including the International Network of Hearts, a nonprofit helping children in the U.S. and Mexico recover from human trafficking.
