Imperial Beach library hosts art exhibit, reception The Spring/summer 2023 Imperial Beach Arts Bureau’s Art Exhibition and
Reception will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Community Room of the Imperial Beach Library. The exhibition features 19 local South Bay artists’ drawings, paintings, mixed media art and photography. Award recipients will also be announced during the reception. Two groups host Small Business Expo 2023
The Women’s Business Center of San Diego and Imperial Counties and the Small Business Development Center host a free Small Business Expo from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Handlery Hotel, 950 Hotel Circle North, San Diego. Entrepreneurs and small business owners are invited to connect with resource partners to start and grow their small businesses, from support and lending to procurement and networking. Chula Vista seeking survey responses

Chula Vista showcases senior center work
The city of Chula Vista recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Norman Park Senior Center, 270 F St., to showcase its most recent renovations, including the addition of pickleball and bocce ball courts and solar lighting for the fitness area for a total of $450,000. Funding for these enhancements was provided by the Congregational Community Development Corporation, which owns property next to the center. The pickleball court is a multi-sport floor surface allowing the nets to be removed for different sports. Pickleball court hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday for seniors, and from 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays for all-ages open play. The center is closed Sundays. The center also offers a variety of classes, activities and events for the city’s seniors, as well as hosting Meals on Wheels San Diego County headquarters on the second floor. Call (619) 4091930.
