John Thomas Farmer
December 17, 1952 - April 27, 2023
SAN DIEGO —
John Thomas Farmer passed away on April 27, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Lake Highlands, IL, to Ezekiel and June Farmer.
John studied Philosophy at Marquette University, then attended the University of Montana School of Law. In 1997, he started his own law firm in San Diego, Farmer Case & Fedor, which continued successfully for 25 years.
John enjoyed helping others and served as a mentor to many. He always had an answer and an anecdote.
John was a passionate guitar player, drawing inspiration from the rock greats. A few of John’s San Diego bands include Wild Nights (formerly Left4dead), Midnight Ramblers, and Thunder Road.
John was President of the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association, an American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) member, an area director of the Tierrasanta Community Council, and a double black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and listening to classic rock over a glass (or two) of wine.
John was predeceased by his younger brother, Jim. He is survived by his wife, Bryce Corcoran; his son Ryan; his daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Mario Castrejon; his grandchildren, Liliana and Ezekiel; his stepdaughter, Michelle; and his stepson, Scotty.
John’s love, generosity, humor, guidance, and wisdom will continue to inspire us. We miss him more than words can say but take comfort in knowing he and his brother Jim are making music together again in heaven’s basement.
