SAN DIEGO — Cecilia White, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 83 on May 25th surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.
She was born in 1939 to Frank and Marie Sauceda in San Bernardino. She graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1957.
Soon after completing high school, she met her life love David White in San Diego, and together they built a beautiful family that would span 64 extraordinary years. They were blessed with two children, David Jr., and Eddie.
Cecilia earned a degree in accounting from SDSU in 1972. She embarked on a fulfilling career in the federal government, excelling in various accounting roles and obtaining her CPA. Her dedication and leadership skills propelled her to management, where she provided mentorship to a team of auditing professionals. After 27
years of dedicated service, she retired in 1999.
Cecilia’s retirement was marked by her active involvement with the Assistance League of Greater San Diego. She selflessly volunteered her time and expertise.
She was a lifelong member St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Clairemont where she sang joyfully in the choir.
Cecilia and David shared a love for adventure and exploration, indulging in numerous cruises and captivating sailing and motor boating expeditions. They were Life Members of the Mission Bay Yacht Club.
Cecilia’s radiant smile could light up any room, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with her family and a multitude of friends.
Preceding Cecilia in death were her parents and her brothers, Frank and Arthur. She leaves behind a loving legacy cherished by her husband, David, her children, David Jr. and Eddie, her grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth and Sarah Marie, and her sisters, Velia, Raquel, Alicia, and Armida.
A memorial service will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church on June 21 at 11:00 with a reception following at the Mission Bay Yacht Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to the Assistance League of Greater San Diego.
