BEST CARE PHARMACY AND RAMONA CHAMBER BURGLARIZED

- BY NOAH HARREL Harrel writes for the U-T Community Press.

The Best Care Pharmacy and Ramona Chamber of Commerce were burglarized Monday night. Damage was done to both offices while controlled substances and cash were stolen from Best Care Pharmacy.

Laura Leeman, Ramona Chamber of Commerce office manager, arrived at the office at 8:55 a.m. and saw one of the glass panes smashed at the bottom corner of the door leading into the office. When she realized a burglary had occurred she called 911.

From what they could see on the security footage, Leeman said a small, skinny guy broke the glass pane and crawled through into the Chamber of Commerce office. Once inside he crawled over to the wall the Chamber of Commerce shares with Best Care Pharmacy

According to Leeman the burglar tried three different areas when punching holes in the wall, even moving around the copier and printer, until they found a spot that granted them access to the pharmacy.

Ankit Vaghasiya with Best Care Pharmacy said that even though the wall of his store was broken through, the alarm didn’t go off. The burglar took controlled substances along with about $400 in cash from the till.

“The guy crawled in, the reason why they crawled in was probably because they didn’t want the sensors to go off,” Vaghasiya said.

Leeman concluded the burglary was well thought out because from the video she could see the burglar on the phone with someone the whole time.

Zawilenski also believes that the burglars had spent some time planning since they didn’t take anything from the Chamber, only using it to access the pharmacy, and stayed low to avoid the sensors and alarms.
