Nancy Katherine (Killinger) Garegnani

September 22, 1944 - June 5, 2023

SAN DIEGO, CA — Nancy passed peacefully at home in Hurricane, Utah, surrounded by her loving family after a fall and traumatic head injury while traveling to visit family in San Diego.

Nancy was born the youngest of three children, in Oskaloosa, Kansas to George and Berniece Killinger. The family moved to San Diego when she was still in school, but she was always proud of her Kansas roots.

After graduating from Crawford High in 1963, she went to work at San Diego Gas & Electric Company where she enjoyed a 40 year career as a customer service rep, electric service dispatcher, technical manual writer, and finally, electric line inspector. She was well respected for her technical knowledge, but especially for her people skills, welcoming personality and witty charm.

After retiring in 2003, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, and reading, but especially spending time with her grandchildren. In 2019, she and husband, Tom, took an adventure and relocated from their home in Ramona, to Hurricane, Utah. Nancy loved the area and the adventure, and made many new friends there.

She was a caring and giving woman, always looking after others. She will be greatly missed by her large family and numerous friends.

Nancy was predeceased by her sister Janice Beerbower and her brother Bill Killinger, both of whom she loved very much. She is survived by her loving husband Tom, her son Andrew Fisher, stepchildren: Dominic Garegnani (Robbin), Danielle Perez-garegnani (Francisco), David Garegnani (Patricia), grandchildren: Joseph (Kendra), Angela (Korbin), Steven, Cavalera, Santiago, and Felina, and great-grandchildren: Brayden, Madilyn, and Brynlee. She is also survived by a very large extended family, and was deeply loved by all of us. Rest in peace in God’s loving arms, sweet Nancy!

A mass and reception celebrating Nancy’s life will take place on Saturday, July 29, at 11:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church located at 3327 Glencolum Dr., San Diego, CA.92123.
