DANCE, COMICS AND RACING HEADLINING THIS WEEK IN SD
Fun is at the top of the to-do list in San Diego this week with Comic-con International kicking off Thursday and opening day of the Del Mar racing season on Friday. You can also take in a captivating dance experience at the La Jolla Playhouse and more cultural events happening in Balboa Park.
Enjoy!
‘Is it Thursday Yet?’ at Playhouse
La Jolla Playhouse’s production of “Is It Thursday Yet?” is running through Aug. 6 in the Mandell Weiss Forum, performed by dancer Jenn Freeman and musician Holland Andrews.
The show was created and choreographed by its star, Freeman, along with Tony Award-winner Sonya Tayeh, who directs it. The music was composed by Andrews.
Freeman was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in 2021 at age 33. The show examines her childhood memories through this new lens, using the language she knows best: dance.
