William H. ‘Will’ Moore

-

EL CAJON, CA —

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Will” Moore, who passed away at home after enduring a longtime struggle with COPD. He was the first of four children born to Theodore (Ted) and Gloria (Laxson) Moore on April 12, 1955.

Will graduated from Hoover High School and received a degree in Computer Programming from Coleman College. He worked for Heating and Cooling Supply in San Diego for many years as their primary network technician and as Telecomm Manager, and then in 2012 joined Productivity Associates, Inc. (PAI) as a Technical Support Engineer where he very much enjoyed working until recently, when his health made it too difficult to continue. A dependable and loyal employee, he always enjoyed helping people, whether customers and coworkers or friends and family.

April 12, 1955 - November 1, 2023

During Will’s earliest childhood years his family lived in National City. He was always up for an adventure with the other kids in the neighborhood, and they had some memorable ones. The family also grew, with three siblings arriving over the next five years. After his dad died unexpectedly in 1964 the family moved to Kensington. There, more adventures were to be found, along with many new friendships.

Not long after graduating from high school, Will decided to take on a brand new

adventure, moving to Depew, Oklahoma with a friend who was moving back home. It was in Oklahoma that he met and fell (hard and fast) in love with an adorable girl named Teri Newell, who became his wife and returned with him to San Diego in 1979 to begin a new life of adventures together. Teri had a young son, Jason, whom Will lovingly welcomed into his life. A few years later, the arrival of their son William (Willie) made the family complete. The couple eventually bought a home In El Cajon where they remained happily married, and best friends, for almost 46 years.

To know Will was to love him, always quick with a smile and a twinkle in his eye. He had a wonderful and witty sense of humor, and was a kind and gentle man. If you were a friend of Will’s, you knew you could count on him for anything, at any time.

Will enjoyed various recreational activities over his lifetime, but he especially loved the extended family gettogethers at the holidays and time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he was so very proud of all of them. He will be deeply missed by so many. The family takes comfort in knowing that, with his final adventure, he is at peace in heaven with family and friends gone before.

Will is survived by his wife, Teri; his two sons and their children: Jason and his daughter Magel, and Will and his children Brooklynn, Cassidy and William, and their mother, Tammy; siblings Marsi, Susan and Tom; all of his beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and their families, and his Newell relations and their families.

Will’s request was to be cremated, and a celebration of his life will be planned for a later date, to be announced.
