Jayden Maiava threw for 339 yards and two touchdowns and UNLV shut out host Air Force in the second half to earn a 31-27 win to take over sole possession of first place in the Mountain West on Saturday.

The Runnin’ Rebels (9-2, 6-1) hold a one-game lead over the Falcons with one game remaining in the regular season.

Air Force drove to the UNLV 8 on its final possession, but John Busha’s pass to Caleb Rillos on fourth-and-goal with :23 left fell incomplete.

Maiava was 15 of 29 passing for 339 yards and two touchdowns but was picked off twice. Ricky White caught eight passes for 169 yards and a touchdown and Kaleo Ballungay caught two for 90 yards and a score.

UNLV 31, Air Force 27

Air Force ran for 344 yards and three touchdowns, led by Dylan Carson with 104 yards on 16 carries. Jasen Jensen carried 19 times for 88 yards but was just 1-of-6 passing for 35 yards.

Air Force will look to snap a three-game losing streak at Boise State on Friday. UNLV is home against San Jose State next Saturday.

Wyoming 42, Hawaii 9: Andrew Peasley threw three long first-half touchdown passes and Wyoming never looked back to post a win over visiting Hawaii in the Cowboys’ final home game.

later to make it 14-0 after a quarter. Harrison Waylee ran 28 yards for a touchdown, Peasley hit Wyatt Wieland with a 40-yard touchdown and Ayir Asante scored from the 6 in the second quarter.

Peasley was 14 of 17 for 319

yards for Wyoming (7-4, 4-3 MW).

Brayden Schager was 25 of 44 for 278 yards and a touchdown and was picked off twice for Hawaii (4-8, 2-5).

Colorado State 30, Nevada 20: Brayden Fowler-nicolosi threw for two touchdowns and host Colorado State defeated Nevada.

Fowler-nicolosi’s second TD toss, a 38-yarder to Louis Brown IV, with under 11 minutes remaining gave the Rams (5-6, 3-4 MW) a 10point cushion and Nevada (2-9, 2-5) managed only 14 yards on its final two possession­s.

Jordan Noyes kicked his third field goal to extend the lead to 23-13 in the third quarter and the Wolf Pack again tightened the game with Brendon Lewis’ 9-yard touchdown run with seven minutes left in the period.

Fowler-nicolosi was 15 of 30 for 245 yards passing. Justin Marshall rushed 19 times for 98 yards. Tory Horton had 78 yards receiving with a score.

Lewis threw for 169 yards and rushed for 61 more for Nevada. AJ Bianco, out of the game early after a big hit, threw the two intercepti­ons.

Boise State 45, Utah State 10: George Holani ran for 178 yards and two touchdowns as visiting Boise State cruised to victory over Utah State.

Holani broke loose on a career-long 75-yard touchdown run and added a 26yarder, each in the second quarter, as the Broncos built a 31-10 halftime lead. Holani carried 10 times and had 158 yards rushing in the half.

Taylen Green threw two touchdown passes for Boise State (6-5, 5-2 MW). Ashton Jeanty and Jambres Dubar combined for 142 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Broncos.

Cooper Legas completed 8 of 12 passes and threw a touchdown pass for Utah State (5-6, 3-4). Davon Booth ran 12 times for 125 yards.
