Milica ‘Millie’ Medigovich

ESCONDIDO, CA — Milica “Millie” Medigovich, age 101, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023, in Escondido, CA. She was born on March 7, 1922, in Miami, Arizona, to the late Dolly and David Sankovich. Millie was a dedicated mother and grandmothe­r who loved her family unconditio­nally. She was a loving, kind and generous person who had a zest for life and a wonderful spirit. She will truly be missed!

Millie is survived by her sons, Sam Medigovich (Amanda), Tom Medigovich; her granddaugh­ter, Brina Medigovich; her grandson, Brian Medigovich; her sister, Ruby Stanforth; nephews, Bill Medigovich (Barbara); Larry Stanforth (Barbara); and David Stanforth (Pam); cousin, Barbara Anguis; and Adriana Ybarra (mother of Brina and Brian). Millie was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Spiro Medigovich.

Millie attended San Diego High School and later pursued higher education at the San Diego College of Commerce. She embarked on a successful career, working as a secretary for the head of security at Consolidat­ed Aircraft. Millie also served as a school secretary at Memorial Junior High School and as a principal’s secretary at Taft Junior High School and Crawford

High School.

In her free time, Millie enjoyed playing golf, reading, working out at the YMCA, and going to restaurant­s with her family and friends. After retiring, she embarked on several trips both domestical­ly and internatio­nally with her girlfriend­s. Millie found solace and strength in her faith and was an active member of the Kensington Community Church. Millie was a resident of Kensington in San Diego for over 65 years and loved her community.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons can be made in Millie’s memory to the Kensington Community Church, 4773 Marlboroug­h Dr, San Diego, CA 92116.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family. RIP Millie. We love you dearly!!
