Line: North Carolina by 51⁄2 Outlook: Under coach Mack Brown, North Carolina seeks to complete a winning season with its first bowl victory since 2013. Tar Heels QB Sam Howell threw for 3,347 yards and 35 touchdowns, most by a true freshman in FBS history. Temple’s defense allowed just 212.5 yards passing per game and had 39 sacks — 13 by DE Quincy Roche, the AAC defensive player of the year.

Line: Michigan State by 31 ⁄2 Outlook: Wake Forest is one of nine schools to win a bowl game in each of the past three seasons and needs one more win to become just the third team in school history to finish with nine or more victories. Michigan State has already played bowl games in baseball stadiums in New York, adding Yankee Stadium to the list that includes the Polo Grounds and Ebbets Field. 9 a.m., ESPN;

Line: Texas A&M by 51 ⁄2 Outlook: These teams first played in 1913 but haven’t met since a 30-29 win by Oklahoma State in 2011 in Texas A&M’S last season in the Big 12. Cowboys RB Chuba Hubbard, the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and firstteam All-america honoree, has 10 straight 100-yard rushing games and leads the nation with 1,936 yards rushing. The Aggies rank 30th in the nation against the run, allowing 129.1 yards a game.

2 Outlook: The bowl will feature a staggering disparity in styles: the Falcons and their triple option against the Cougars and their Air Raid offense. QB Anthony Gordon made the most of his lone season as the Cougars’ starter, leading the nation with a Pac-12-record 5,228 yards passing and 45 TDS. Air Force QB Donald Hammond III is the Falcons’ fourth-leading rusher (491 yards). He ran for 11 TDS and passed for 13. 3:45 p.m., ESPN;
