Special Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Globe’s Copley Plaza for free, but reservations are required. Admission is $29 and p for adults, $19 and up for children, children under 3 may attend 11 a.m. performances only, children under 2 are admitted for free but must occupy same seat as parent or guardian. Skating by the Sea: times vary, through Jan. 5 at Hotel del Coronado, 1500 Orange Ave., Coronado. Ice skate on the rink installed at the hotel’s Windsor Lawn, which is about 30 yards from the beach. Plus, the Frostbite lounge area with fire pits and comfy seating that be reserved for groups of four or six with holiday drinks and snacks.
