HEAT ADVISORY ISSUED FOR MUCH OF COUNTY TODAY
A heat advisory will be in effect in San Diego County in the area between Interstate 15 and the eastern mountains until 6 p.m. today, the National Weather Service says.
Forecasters say Escondido could reach 89 today. Ramona could reach 88. Alpine will be 83 today.
San Diego will see at least 77 today.
The temperatures are being driven upward, in part, by weak offshore Santa Ana winds. A red flag fire weather warning is not expected, partly because the region has received nearly record rain this month.
San Diego County officials on Friday announced restrictions that limited ocean access will be lifted. Cities across the region could reopen beaches as soon as Monday.
