16-year-old fatally shot in Lincoln Park
SAN DIEGO
San Diego homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy who was killed late Saturday in Lincoln Park.
Officers responded to a home on Magnus Way east of South 47th Street around 10:20 p.m. after the San Diego Police Communications Center received notice from the ShotSpotter system, a contract service where microphones placed around the city identify gunshots.
Several shots were fired, said San Diego Police acting Lt. Joel Tien. Officers found the victim down in a driveway with a single gunshot wound.
They provided aid until San Diego Fire-Rescue personnel took the victim to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities are not releasing his name at this time.
