Police arrest man in trolley station stabbing

San Diego police arrested a man in connection with the stabbing death of a 25-year-old man on a trolley platform in San Diego on Saturday night.

Police received a call about a stabbing at the Imperial Trolley Center, near Imperial Avenue and 13th Street, at about 8:15 p.m., said San Diego police homicide Lt. Andra Brown. Officers arrived and found Metropolit­an Transit System officers treating a man with several stab wounds to his torso.

The victim was transporte­d to a hospital and was pronounced dead just before 9:30 p.m.

Brown said the man has been identified but his name is not being released at this time.

Homicide detectives are still investigat­ing the incident but have determined that the victim was involved in a physical altercatio­n with the 27-year-old man on the trolley platform.
