Russia should release opposition leader

-

Re “Putin foe Navalny sent to prison hospital amid hunger strike” (April 19): Unfortunately, Alexei Navalny went into the lion’s den when he returned to Russia. It failed to kill him the first time. Now it is trying hard not to have him survive by purposely neglecting his medical needs, and through torture.

He should be released from prison for humanitarian reasons because of his condition, but there are no such things in despotic regimes.

Russia rather wishes to finish him for good. Heartbreaking story.
