AZTECS GIVE VAN WYK 800TH SOFTBALL WIN

-

Win No. 800 came in dramatic fashion for San Diego State softball coach Kathy Van Wyk.

The Aztecs scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning Sunday, including four with two out, to post a 13-10 victory at Utah State and give their head coach the 800th victory of her career

Van Wyk improved to 800554-1 (.591) for her 25-season career. She was the co-head coach in 1995-96 with Linda Spradley

The victory also gave the Aztecs (22-13, 7-8 MW), who at one point also trailed 8-2, their third consecutive series win.

Jillian Celis had three hits, including two doubles, three runs and an RBI to lead SDSU.
