Pearl G. ‘Perla’ Velasquez

March 10, 1931 - June 25, 2021

OCEANSIDE — Pearl died peacefully on June 25, 2021, at the age of 90. Pearl was born in El Paso, Tx. She graduated from Bowie HS in 1949. She married Victor M. Velasquez Sr., moved to Oceanside, Ca via the US Marines, and had 3 children: Victor Jr., Michael, and Veronica. She was a devout Catholic and volunteered with Brother Benno. She was an active member with the American G. I. Forum. She helped open the JCPenney’s in Carlsbad and retired after 42 years. She enjoyed playing softball and bowling until her early 70s. She was a loyal SD Padres fan. She lived her life to the fullest and was the life of the party. Services will be held at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 609 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA on Monday, July 19 at 10:00am.
