Sebastian Aho also had a goal and two assists, while Vincent Trocheck, Seth Jarvis, Jesper Fast — another former Ranger — and Nino Niederreit­er also scored in the first meeting of the season between the top two teams in the Metropolit­an Division.

Penguins 5, Blue Jackets 2: Sidney Crosby notched his 15th career hat trick and added an assist to lead Pittsburgh over host Columbus for the Penguins’ fourth straight win. Brian Dumoulin had a goal and two assists, Mike Matheson added a goal and an assist, and Bryan Rust had two assists for Pittsburgh, which has won 15 of its last 17 games.

Islanders 4, Coyotes 0: Ilya Sorokin stopped 17 shots for his fourth shutout of the season, Brock Nelson scored twice and New York beat visiting Arizona.

Stars 5, Red Wings 4 (OT): Roope Hintz scored a power-play goal with 2:09 left in overtime to give Dallas a win at Detroit.

Wild 5, Blackhawks 1: Ryan Hartman scored two goals to help visiting Minnesota beat Chicago.

Panthers 2, Canucks 1 (SO): Anton Lundell and Aleksander Barkov each beat Vancouver goalie Spencer Martin in a shootout for visiting Florida.

Blues 5, Kraken 0: Ville Husso earned his second shutout of the season with 27 saves for visiting St. Louis.

Ducks 5, Lightning 1: Derek Grant scored two goals and host Anaheim emphatical­ly snapped a four-game losing streak.

Avalanche 4, Kings 1: Kiefer Sherwood scored his first goal in nearly three years, Mikko Rantanen had a power-play goal and Colorado stayed hot with a win at Los Angeles.

Golden Knights 4, Canadiens 3 (OT): Shea Theodore scored in overtime and Vegas beat visiting Montreal.

Kraken 3, Sharks 2: Carson Soucy had the first two-goal game of his career, Calle Jarnkrok scored in the third period and host Seattle beat San Jose.

Ducks coach Dallas Eakins wasn’t behind the bench for Friday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning after testing positive for COVID-19. Assistant coach Mike Stothers will run things in Eakins’ absence.
