Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, San Diego’s Surefire Soul Ensemble specializes in crafting percolating grooves that defy audiences to keep from gyrating. Equally adept at vintage souljazz, Afro-Beat, New Orleans-styled funk and more, the nine-piece band is led by keyboardist Tim Felten and anchored by Jake Najor’s propulsive drumming.
