Motorcyclist seriously injured in Vista crash

A man was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in Vista Sunday morning, a sheriff ’s official said.

The collision happened at the intersection of West Vista Way and Emerald Drive about 11:15 a.m.

Sheriff ’s investigators said the motorcyclist was headed north on Emerald when he crashed into a vehicle headed west on West Vista. It’s unclear who had the right of way at the time of the crash.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with injuries that will require surgery, according to the Sheriff ’s Department.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.

It’s unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
