Man shot in hand during attempted carjacking

San Diego police are investigating an attempted carjacking in the North Park area late Monday that left the victim with a gunshot wound on his hand, police said.

The incident was reported shortly after 11:30 p.m. near Fern and Juniper streets. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury, said police Sgt. David Yu.

No suspect information was released and no arrests were made.
