Body found along trail near canyon in Hillcrest

San Diego police were investigating after a body was found along a trail near a canyon in Hillcrest on Wednesday morning.

Police said no foul play was suspected.

Someone found the body — identified as female, age unknown — along a trail off Myrtle Way, not far from Roosevelt Middle School, and east of state Route 163, about 8:15 a.m.

Police said the person’s death was possibly the result of an overdose.
