STATE ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 78

There are two candidates on the June 7 ballot for the newly drawn state Assembly District 78, which runs through much of San Diego, including Mira Mesa, Clairemont, Hillcrest, North Park, South Park, Normal Heights, College Area, Kensington and San Carlos, and part of El Cajon. Retail sales associate Eric Gonzales, a Republican, and Assemblymember Chris Ward, a Democrat, will automatically advance to a Nov. 8 runoff election.
