There are two candidates on the June 7 ballot for the newly drawn state Assembly District 77, which runs from Carlsbad south through Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar, University City, coastal San Diego neighborho­ods from La Jolla to Point Loma, and the city of Coronado. Assemblyme­mber Tasha Boerner Horvath, a Democrat, and CEO/financial adviser Dan Downey, a Republican, will automatica­lly advance to a Nov. 8 runoff election.
