SAN DIEGO — Dolores Feldman Dickstein passed away after a very brief illness from the flu and pneumonia at Scripps Encinitas Hospital. Born in Plainfield, NJ, Dolores moved with her family to Tucson, AZ in 1949. While attending her senior year of high school there, she met Harold Dickstein, whom she married on March 9, 1952. The couple established residence in San Diego the next day and had son Paul in 1956. The three of them moved to the Del Cerro area in 1959, and daughter Dawn was born in 1960.

Dolores was a homemaker during her married years and was very active in PTA, Cub and Boy Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, youth sports and at Temple Emanu-El. Notably, she served as a volunteer Braille transcriber, an experience she parlayed into an enjoyable thirty-one-year career as a Braillist in the visually-handicapped program at Carlton Oaks School in Santee.

Divorced in 1977, Dolores resumed the higher education she had started in the early 1950s and finished her BA in Liberal Studies at San Diego State. She continued to love her house and life in Del Cerro, living alone, with frequent visits from family, friends, and neighbors.

Survivors include son Paul and daughter-in-law Eva Dickstein of Solana Beach and daughter Dawn Dickstein of New York. Also survived by granddaughters Shayna (Josh) Dickman of Irving, TX; Rachel Dickstein (Aaron Friedrichson) of Berlin, Germany; brother Robert (Debbie) Feldman of Scottsdale, AZ; sister-in-law Diane Schoen of Phoenix; nieces Irene, Kathy and Karis; and nephews David, Joe and

Dan. She was preceded in death by her father Abraham, mother Gizella, and sister Judy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, May 13, at Temple Emanu-El at 6299 Capri Dr. in San Diego (livestream link: https:// boxcast.tv/channel/ vk0vvuch6ppqi4ax133s), followed by cremation and burial at sea.
