FBI, SDPD seek suspect in failed robbery at Mountain View bank
MOUNTAIN VIEW
A man tried and failed to rob a bank teller Thursday afternoon at a branch in San Diego’s Mountain View neighborhood, according to the FBI.
The incident happened about 3:50 p.m. at the Chase branch on Imperial Avenue, west of Interstate 805, San Diego-area FBI spokesperson William Mc
Namara said in a news release.
The would-be robber walked into the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding cash from the bank, McNamara said. He fled without being given any money.
The FBI described the suspect as a White man in his late 30s or early 40s. He was about 5 feet 4 inches, with a thin build. He wore a black baseball cap with a red brim, a black face mask, a dark hoodie with a Tommy Hilfiger logo on the chest and jeans.
Authorities are seeking help from the public to identify the man.
