HYPOLUXO, FL — Patrick Michael McCook, 45, was born in San Diego, and passed away at his home in Hypoluxo, Florida. He is survived by his ex-wife Courtney, daughter Lalique, son Remington, and his parents Michael and Ellen McCook and Vicki McWilliams.

Patrick attended

St. Kieran’s School, Montgomery Middle School and Granite Hills High School where he played varsity water polo and varsity tennis. Prior to college, he spent six months in Hawaii, surfing every day and “living the dream.” Upon his return to San Diego, he attended Grossmont College and then decided to follow his passion for cooking and culinary education. He enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in San Francisco, where he graduated at the top of his class. He went on to be one of the few CIA graduates to do his apprenticeship internationally, in Namotu Island, Fiji.

After returning to United States he became a sous chef at a 5-star restaurant in Lake Tahoe. His culinary portfolio grew when he moved to Los Angeles, where he became a chef for the international lifestyle hospitality company, SBE Entertainment Group. He continued to expand his career, becoming a private chef for Lance Armstrong, Sheryl Crow and several other high-powered families, including two principals at the CIM Group.

He then met his wife, Courtney, and married in a beautiful ceremony on the big island of Hawaii. They made their way to Reno, Nevada, where their first child, Lalique, was born. Eventually, family in Florida were calling and they decided that was where they needed to be. There, they welcomed their second child, Remington.

In Florida, Patrick became a sous chef at a private club and was then hired as a personal chef for the family of a high-profile entrepreneur,

Harry Savage, where he worked until passing.

Patrick was a father extraordinaire to his children, always making life fun for them. He and his ex-wife Courtney had a wonderful relationship, always focused on their love for Lalique and Remington. After the divorce, Patrick had numerous job opportunities, but would only work close to where the kids were living. He was a wonderful son and a great friend. He had a true passion for cooking, surfing, golf and snowboarding.

Patrick will be truly missed by his family and all that knew him. He will now join his beloved brother, Kevin, who passed away in 2021, in their final resting place.

A family and friends ceremony will be held on June 4. For details, please call Mike McCook, 916-712-8840.
