Yankees 5, Athletics 3: Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton homered to fuel New York’s major league-best 24th comeback victory, bailing out Jameson Taillon (9-1) in a win over visiting Oakland. The Yankees completed a three-game sweep of baseball’s worst team and improved to 56-20, matching the 2001 Mariners and 1998 Yankees for baseball’s best 76-game start since 1930.

Royals 2, Rangers 1: Zach Greinke (2-4) allowed just one run on four hits, helping host Kansas City avoid a three-game sweep.

Mariners 9, Orioles 3: Julio Rodriguez hit his 12th home run of the season as part of Seattle’s six-run fourth inning, and the Mariners beat visiting Baltimore for their seventh win in nine games.

Red Sox 6, Blue Jays 5 (10): J.D. Martinez drove in the tiebreakin­g run when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the 10th inning and Boston beat host Toronto, avoiding a three-game sweep.

Guardians 7, Twins 6 (10): Josh Naylor hit a two-run homer with two outs in the 10th inning, completing a four-run rally that gave Cleveland a victory over visiting Minnesota.

Angels 4, White Sox 1: Shohei Ohtani (7-4) pitched 52⁄3 scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts to beat visiting Chicago.

White Sox 11, Angels 4: Josh Harrison and Luis Robert hit tworun homers during Chicago’s five-run fifth inning, and the White Sox pounded out 17 hits in a victory at Los Angeles.

Mariners 2, Orioles 0: Jesse Winker drove in two runs with a go-ahead double in the eighth, Robbie Ray allowed just one hit over seven innings and host Seattle beat Baltimore.
