• 18 teams are making their first State Championship appearance. • Harvard-Westlake is 3-1 in boys State Championships, but is in the Open Division for the first time. • In the Girls Open Division, Archbishop Mitty is in its 14th State Championship game, going 6-7. Mitty plays Etiwanda, the team that knocked out La Jolla Country Day in the SoCal Regionals.
• The Oakland Tech girls are 4-0 in State Championship games, are the defending Division III champions and are playing for a Division II title. • The Colfax girls (2-1), the Los Osos girls (0-1), San Domenico (1-0) and Shalhevet (0-1) are the other teams with State Championship experience. The San Domenico-Shalhevet game is a rematch of last year’s Division V title game.
