(3) Eastlake (28-4) vs. (1) La Costa Canyon (23-6)

Eastlake, last year’s Division 1 champion, pounded out a 16-5 win over Rancho Bernardo on Wednesday to get to the title game. The Titans have six players with 20 RBIs and are hitting .323 as a team, led by Daniel Mora (.393-26 RBIs), Isaiah Lane (.298-32 RBIs) and Matthew Duran (.372-29 RBIs). Eastlake used top starters Jake Davis and Brody Wells already this week, so Fidel Lopez may get the start, backed by Trevor Adame, Diego Uribe and Wells. The Titans have nine straight 20-win seasons, excluding the COVID year. … La Costa Canyon, the defending Open Division champion, is led by James Theodore (.408-16 RBIs), Gabe Camacho (.344-16 RBIs) and Kalen Applefield (.350-15 RBIs). The Mavericks, who have won 20 games in 14 of the last 15 years, excluding the COVID season, have right-hander Stunner Gonzalez (4-2, 2.25 ERA) and lefty Camacho (6-1, 1.50 ERA) ready to face Eastlake. … Eastlake and La Costa Canyon played for the Lions Tournament title earlier this season with LCC winning 3-1.

Moving on: Both teams, including Open Division semifinali­sts Rancho Bernardo and Carlsbad, will advance to the Southern California Regionals. Pairings will be announced Sunday.

Division 1

Patrick Henry has won six in a row to get to the title game. Jack Giordano (.272-22 RBIs), Talin Gardini (.321-24 runs) and Cody Cappellett­i (.286-16 RBIs) lead the offense. The Patriots have Gardini (4-0, 1.25 ERA), Travis Van Dyke (3.1, 3.78 ERA) and Hamilton Collins (3-0, 3.11) ready to pitch. … Santana is led by Alex Gillis (.289-18 RBIs), Landen Bailey (.294-12 RBIs) and Bradley Phillips (.273-15 RBIs). The Sultans have ace Destin Allen-Fox (9-1, 0.63 ERA) ready to go. … The Patriots and Sultans played in March, with Santana winning 7-0.

PREP SOFTBALL Division 1 Today: (2) Mater Dei Catholic (17-12) vs. (1) Otay Ranch (22-7)

7 p.m., San Diego State Softball Stadium

Last year’s Southern California Division II champion, Mater Dei Catholic has scored 45 runs in four games, including a 12-0 win over Mission Hills to reach the finals. … Otay Ranch, last year’s Open Division champion, defeated Cathedral Catholic 6-3 in the “if-necessary” game to reach the finals.

Moving on: Both teams will advance to the Southern California Regionals, with pairings announced Sunday.

Division II

Today: 4 p.m. San Diego State Softball Stadium

(3) Holtville (22-5) vs. (1) Santana (21-8-1) Holtville brings a six-game winning streak to the finals after defeating Our Lady of Peace 7-2. … Santana rallied from the loser’s bracket with two wins over Westview, including a 13-7 triumph in the “if-necessary” game.

Girls spotlight: Scripps Ranch’s Lizzie Tarczy tops the state in the high jump at 5 feet 9 inches, and La Costa Canyon’s Iliana Downing is No. 1 in the pole vault at 14 feet, just 2 inches off the state meet record. Gold medal possibilit­ies are strongest in the 100 and 300 hurdles, with San Diego High sophomore Anisa Bowen-Fontenot (13.92 and 42.12), La Jolla freshman Chiara Dailey (4:42.69) in the 1600 and La Costa Canyon’s Gioana Lopizzo (9:59.48) in the 3200.

Boys spotlight: Helix’s Adren Parker (46.48) is section record-holder and second-fastest in state in 400. Torrey Pines’ Ryan Thomas (4:07.90) is No. 3 in the 1,600, Vincent Atilano (37.94) of Cathedral Catholic is seeded in top five in the 300 hurdles, and Point Loma’s Manuel Correia (1:51.44) is one to watch in the 800.
