INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY EVENTS SCHEDULED NEXT WEEK
Local colleges, Zoo Safari Park will host gatherings celebrating Mon. holiday

Gavin Newsom signed a proclamation that in part reads that “Instead of commemorating conquest today, we recognize resilience.” In 2021, President Joe Biden became the first U.S. president to formally recognize the holiday nationwide through his own proclamation.
