YOUNG THUNDER EARN OT WIN OVER WARRIORS

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 38 points, and the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Golden State Warriors 138-136 in overtime on Friday night.

Jalen Williams scored 28 points and Chet Holmgren added 21 for the Thunder, who beat the Warriors for the third straight time in the final matchup between the teams this season.

Stephen Curry scored 10 of his 34 points in overtime, Klay Thompson scored 22 points and Draymond Green added 12 points and 13 assists for the Warriors before fouling out.

Oklahoma City shot 52 percent overall, despite making just 5 of 29 3-pointers. The Thunder scored 35 points off 29 turnovers by the Warriors.

Golden State led 62-56 at halftime behind 13 points from Thompson and 12 from Andrew Wiggins.

Holmgren was fouled on a 3-pointer with 7.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter. He made all three free throws to tie the game at 118. With Oklahoma City defensive stopper Lu Dort guarding him, Curry missed a 3-pointer as time expired to force overtime.

76ers 125, Hawks 114:

Joel Embiid had 38 points and 14 rebounds and shook off an injury scare in the late minutes to help Philadelph­ia hold off visiting Atlanta.

Embiid appeared to injure his left leg on a drive down the lane with just over 41⁄2 minutes left as he tried to make a move in the lane with Atlanta ahead 109-108. Even while hunched over and walking with a limp, Embiid remained in the game and scored six points in the final moments, grabbing two rebounds along the way.

Detroit its 19th straight loss. Detroit is 2-20, with the losing streak the longest in one season in franchise history and second-longest overall behind a 21-game slide at the end of the 1979-80 season and start of 1980-81. The streak is the longest in the NBA since Houston lost 20 straight in 2020-21.

Celtics 133, Knicks 123:

Derrick White scored 30 points and Kristaps Porzingis had 21 after missing four games because of a strained left calf to help Boston beat visiting New York.

Nets 124, Wizards 97:

Mikal Bridges scored 21 points and host Brooklyn routed Washington for its third straight victory and fifth in six games. At 12-9, the Nets are a season-best three games over .500. The Wizards fell to 3-18 with their fourth straight loss.

Kings 114, Suns 106:

De’Aaron Fox scored 28 of his 34 points in the second half, Domantas Sabonis added 15 points and 17 rebounds and Sacramento pulled away late to beat host Phoenix. The Kings won their third straight game in the series.

Gordon Hayward scored 24 points, Miles Bridges added 22 and hot-shooting Charlotte survived Scottie

Barnes’ triple-double beat visiting Toronto.

Cavaliers 111, Heat 99: Donovan Mitchell had 27 points and 13 rebounds, Darius Garland shook off early foul trouble to score 18 points and visiting The Cavaliers are now 7-3 on the road this season — tied with Oklahoma City and Minnesota for the best such mark in the NBA.

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 24 points, Rudy Gobert had 16 points, 20 rebounds and six blocks and NBA-leading Minnesota (17-4) pulled away in the third quarter for its sixth straight victory.

Colby White had 24 points and visiting Chicago overcame Victor Wembanyama’s big night to hand San Antonio its franchise record-tying 16th straight loss. Wembanyama had 21 points and 20 rebounds as the Spurs matched the team record they set last season.

Rockets 114, Nuggets 106:

Jalen Green scored 26 points, Fred VanVleet had 25 and visiting Houston withstood a furious Denver rally to beat the Nuggets.
