Olivia died in San Francisco on May 23, 2018 at 97 years of age. She loved to help those in need and was blessed with many friends. She was born in Lassen County in Northern California on November 29th, 1920. She was the daughter of Franklin Crosby Fisher and Marie Dolores Oliver. She moved to San Francisco in 1929 where her father built the house on 29th Avenue, in which Olivia lived most of her life. She taught in many schools including a one-teacher schoolhous­e in Two Rock, Marin County. In 1952 she spent two years teaching for the Army Dependents children in Germany. Upon returning to California she began a 26 year career teaching in the San Francisco Public Schools at Twin Peaks. In 1986 she volunteere­d to teach in Harlan, Kentucky in an ecumenical school. She loved hiking in the Sierras with the Sierra Club, folk dancing and volunteeri­ng with the ‘Handicapab­les’ organizati­on. She is preceded in death by Anne Fisher, sister, Eugene Fisher brother, and her parents. She is survived by Rita Fisher her sisterin-law and her nieces and nephews: Kathleen Patrick, Lois Fisher, Margaret Fisher, Tim Fisher and Dan Fisher plus multiple grand-nieces ,nephews and great grand -nieces. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Monica’s Church at 470 24th Ave in San Francisco on Thursday June 21, 2018 at 11 am. The Committal Service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
