Shaqiri’s goal caps Liverpool win
Two elite European soccer clubs packed ’em in again at Michigan Stadium, and Liverpool’s Xherdan Shaqiri gave the 101,254 fans their money’s worth.
Shaqiri scored on a spectacular bicycle kick in the 82nd minute, capping a three-goal second half for Liverpool in a 4-1 win Saturday over Manchester United in an International Champions Cup match at Ann Arbor, Mich.
Sadio Mane, Daniel Sturridge and Sheyi Ojo also scored for Liverpool. Andreas Pereira scored for United on a free kick in the first half.
Shaqiri also set up the goal by Sturridge that put Liverpool ahead 2-1 in the 65th minute.
The crowd was about 8,000 fewer than the Manchester United-Real Madrid match at the the Big House in 2014.
In other International Champions Cup matches, substitute Alexandre Lacazette scored two goals, with captain Mesut Ozil, Rob Holding and Eddie Nketiah also scoring as Arsenal routed Paris Saint-Germain 5-1 in Singapore . ...
