June Kiyomoto Kitagawa was born in Reedley, CA on June 6, 1929 and passed away September 5, 2018 in Colma, CA. June was the youngest child of Tamekichi Kiyomoto and Sadame Mori. June spent her childhood on her family’s prosperous farm, alongside her brothers Yoneo, Seyichi, and George and sisters Grace, Marty, Dora, and May.

June completed high school at the Poston Internment Camp in Poston, AZ during World War II. Afterwards, she attended San Francisco State College, working as a housekeepe­r in exchange for room and board. After graduation, June worked as a Medical Technologi­st at Kaiser Permanente Hospital. She married David Y. Kitagawa in 1952 and they raised two wonderful sons, Lawrence J. “Larry” Kitagawa and David J. “Bear” Kitagawa. June would later retire from Kaiser in 1994, after more than forty years of service. June was an avid and faithful sports fan, cheering for the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, and San Francisco 49ers. She loved watching Korean dramas and game shows as well as tending to her garden. June also enjoyed spending time with her grandchild­ren, Lauren Miller (Robert) and Christina Honeysett (Cole). She was well-known for her kind and caring nature, wonderful cooking, and most importantl­y, her love of family. June was a beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. At June’s request, there will be no service.
