-

Our dear friend Tim Shortt passed away suddenly from complications of pneumonia. While in the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor sending countless emails to friends & family. He was a gifted & clever writer with a wicked sense of humor.

Tim was born on May 17, 1962 in Detroit, MI to Fred & Kathleen Shortt. He was one of seven boys & one sister. After graduating from De La Salle College Prep and Northwood University in Midland, MI, he started his long and successful career in financial services. He was most recently with Wells Fargo Bank as California Regional Director, Institutional Sales. He was elected President of the Western Pacific & Benefits Council, San Francisco Chapter.

Tim was a Sausalito resident for more than 25 years. As an active member of community, he was instrumental in organizing the bocce league & team in 2005. As well as being the Captain, he was a key player and won many games. He was a prominent member of the Sausalito Yacht Club having been elected to the Nominating Committee and as Entertainment Chair where he started activities that continue today including the annual Sinatra & Cigar dinner. Tim was a Sinatra aficionado singing along with every song and could quote every line from Sinatra’s movies. As a devoted fan, he had an extensive collection of Sinatra memorabilia which he delighted in sharing with his friends. He was a modest and sophisticated man with style who loved wearing different glasses to match his colorful & extensive collection of Paul & Shark shirts. He was an avid reader devouring key newspapers every day and books, but only non-fiction. Tim was beloved by his numerous friends for his boundless energy & generosity. Not only did he take the time to speak with people, he was a great listener.

He was preceded in death by his parents & sister. He is survived by six brothers, seven nephews, three nieces and his beloved Rolling Thunder bocce team. He will be missed. We love you Timmy. RIP

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 7 from 2-6 PM at Dunphy Park in Sausalito. Friends are welcome to join us for a potluck while we play bocce and listen to Sinatra music.
